Yaaarrr!

Here's a pirate i drew in about an hour. i was bored, and my roomy had told me the other day that there's a kid on her track team that loves pirates and doesn't talk at all, so she figured if i drew a pirate for him he might talk about it. he commented on the captain jack sparrow on my white board and she said that was like, the first time she'd heard him say more than one word in a sentence. hah! so we'll see if this gets him talking... a reflection of the sea off the window of the old lighthouse. the beach these were taken at is called "point no point". i love that name. Posted by Hello

a small piece of dry seaweed was stuck in the sand. the wind kept it blowing around and around and from that was formed this perfect, natural circle. beautiful. Posted by Hello

i love the colors in this water. Posted by Hello

an interestingly twisty and knotty tree (or the roots, to be specific). Posted by Hello

another very gnarled and twisty tree. it was much cooler looking in person. alas, the camera does it no justice. Posted by Hello

Catch a Rainbow

I love it when rainbows shower across the room from those little glass shapes you can hang in your windows. Posted by Hello

Mountain in the Sky

The rarely seen Mt. Rainier. i snapped this from the car deck of the ferry today. huzzah for semi clear days! Posted by Hello

Paintings, Pastels, Sketches, Pencil, Colored Pencil

the following is a mass of random art that i've done over about the past 3 years (some from earlier). the top five colored pencil pieces were done my junior year.

the outer inch of this piece is covered by a stupid frame my art teacher put on it. rather messes with the flow. it had a natural frame that i'd drawn on that you can't see. bah! anyway, this is the piece that won 'best in it's medium' at the pacific northwest regional high school art show (or something like that). i like this piece, it turned out well.  Posted by Hello

my first attempt at realistic trees. i like everything about this piece except the branches on the two large trees. they just look like tentacles. but i absolutely love the trunks and root structures. they are the best trees i ever drew. in the center is a glowing unicorn. you can see red eyes in the trees around it. Posted by Hello

gypsy dancing by fire-light. i HATE the fire!!! argh! if i just hadn't done those two retarded curly flames on the same side...*sigh* but alas, i did not see until it was too late. i like the swirly smoke and the girl's dress. Posted by Hello

a little french town. or so it looks to me. i like the chickens and the hanging basket on the left, hah. Posted by Hello

an odd picture. i started with the viney things at the bottom. i didn't know what i was making. then i went in with the weird stripes at the top. i think my original plan was to have abstract, black and white things, and then to add color to random bits. that drastically changed, however, and it turned into a fantasy castle scene with night and day. the art teacher didn't like it. my story on the piece was that the viewer is trapped in a colorless world. the stripey things are curtains blowing back, and the viewer is subjected to a colorful world beyond the tangle of spikey vines and flames. i like it alright...stupid teacher.  Posted by Hello

guess who? yeah. i got into a phase...it's over now. though, he is a rather fun subject. hehe. Posted by Hello

yes, it's legolas. and yes, i am most definately a nerd. and yes, i was totally in love with him for a while. i do still think orlando's portrayal of legolas was good. but i'm over the whole 'orlando craze' now. heh. Posted by Hello

a large eye. i used a face on the cover of a national geographic as a model. Posted by Hello

hands pouring water into a stream running through a forrest...the pouring water is also turning into the trees...yeah, it's a little strange. meh.  Posted by Hello

weird explosiony things. done in pastels. Posted by Hello

my book cover painting...i like how damp the landscape looks, cause that's what i was going for :)Posted by Hello

if you're angry and you know it paint your face. well, it's not really my face, but i was using it as a reference for the wrinkles. Posted by Hello

bored in class? doodle! drawn with pen. Posted by Hello

Computer Art

So here are a few examples of art done on the computer. the only program i have is paint. these comics are definitely rudimentary, but hey, it was my first go and i'm only using paint. i got a few pics from the internet for backgrounds in the fourth one. if you notice that it's yours, tell me and i'll give you credit for it.

dragon. unfortunately, saving as a jpeg made it smeary and not as clear. Posted by Hello

vampire-esque. drew the girl and swirl in paint. again, saving as a jpeg screwed with the clarity, so it looks rather crappy. i found the background on the internet. if it's yours, go ahead and tell me and i'll give you credit. Posted by Hello

Stupid Hello

Well shucks. i ought to just get rid of this whole damn thing. now, as soon as i feel like actually posting everything, 'hello' stops working! argh! SO i guess we'll just have to wait until it decides to start working again...
